Brief Description of NNS BEECROFT
Nigerian Navy Ship BEECROFT established in 1930, is the premier Base of the Nigerian Navy and was once the Naval Headquarters at the inception of the Nigerian Navy.
The Base’s span of control stretches from Nigeria’s border with the Republic of Benin with a coastal stretch of about 154nm from West to East encompassing the inland areas of all South-West states.

About The Commander Nigeria Navy Ship BEECROFT
Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel is the 68th Commander of the Nigerian Navy Premier Base known as Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT. He is a member of 43 Regular Course and an Abovewater Warfare Specialist. He assumed command on Tuesday, 6 February 2025.
Prior to his present appointment, the Commander was the Maritime Component Commander Operation HADIN KAI, North East, Maiduguri. He participated in the ECOMOG Peacekeeping/Peace Enforcement Operations in Sierra Leone and Liberia amongst other operations.
